I just saw this at my watchmakers shop today.

I'm not much of a Rolex guy (frankly I can't afford to be) but if I was this one would be very high on the list. Gilt 5513. The other two aren't bad either! Have a great weekend.

Rolex Explorer 6610 Gilt Tropical.

One of the watches which gets a lot of wrist time, lately. So expect to see some photos of this beauty from ... 1957 in the weeks to come. Best, Nicolas

I went back to Tudor today. I am starting to warm up to this.

I have ruled out the gilt dial because of the faux patina.

May I join the party please?

Nice pictures Nico, I love the BB54, I will have to see this new one in person just for the color.

The original BB 54, I specifically like the gilt on the dial.

A little color comparison between yellow and vintage rose gold.

I think 1960s rose gold would better be described as bronze color than rose like everose. This combination is very unusual for a 1601 especially with a Black pink marker and pink gilt dial. AI , tried many, are not able to find another like this watch.

A Pink Gilt Gloss dial 1601/5

A bit less common and one that can grab the attention of the vintage Datejust collector. A black gloss gilt dial with pink writing and pink hands. Ever see another like it or better yet do you have one? Sorry about the dust on the crystal. The dial is ver

I have gone through more than I care to admit…

over the last 25 years. I am down to a 5513 right now. It has the eagle beak crown guards, but, matte dial, likely replaced long ago as supposedly they were issued in the early 60s with gilt dials…my jeweler is very, very knowledgeable about all things Ro
